Cohutta 100
TimmyD and I took the trek down to Tennessee this past weekend (along with many of our friends from PA down to NC) for the first stop in this year's NUE 100miler series: The Cohutta 100.
Leisurely two-day drive down there (to split up the 14hr trip) Thursday and Friday.
Race Saturday
As soon as awards are over we make a break for the north.
Arrival home sometime late Sunday.
All in all the trip was a success! I felt great (despite no winter training) and held my own against a stacked and very competitive SingleSpeed field. TimmyD rocked it with a superb performance.
28hours of driving
just over 9hours of racing (or a shade under 8 for Tim)
1 CO2 cartridge (burped a tire on a rock)
1 chain (had to remove a link around mile 65 and subsequently twisted the chain later on... it's shot now)
8 water bottles
1 gel packet
1 bag of Shot Bloks
4 flasks of Perpetuem
6 Endurolytes
no cramping
rode the entire course
Time to sleep. I will write a full recap tomorrow. Riding my bike to work tomorrow. I've had enough of sitting in a car for a few days.

Our campsite neighbor. He came down from Knoxville to watch his mom race in the 65k.

Orange is the new black!
